Industry expert panel discuss how private networks are addressing the growing digital divide where many homes still don’t have access to high speed broadband today, especially outside of major urban centres.

The pandemic has only highlighted this growing problem and shown how many people are being left behind. We see how this “digital divide” grows, where students fall further behind due to lack of access to distance learning that has had to become the norm since the pandemic. Home workers suffer a similar fate as they struggle to access enterprise communications and collaboration tools and battle for quality data bandwidth at home. Cost can also be a major issue with more than 44% of households with incomes below $30,000 a year not being able to access home broadband services, and 29% not even having a smartphone (Pew Research, May 7, 2019).

This round table discussion with industry experts explores the key drivers, challenges, use cases and customer deployments addressing the digital divide, exploring how the latest 4G & 5G technology for Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) solutions is being used by Wireless Internet Service Providers (WISPs) with shared spectrum like OnGo.
